Liberation day of Dadra And Nagar Haveli is celebrated on 2nd
august to commemorate its liberation from Portuguese rulers and its birth as a
free administrative in 1954. Many people
scarified their life for this liberation so we all should pay a tribute to the
leader who fought for the freedom.
The
significance of this day is that Dadra and Nagar Haveli become Independent from
the rule of Portuguese.
In 1961 Indian forces took over Goa, Daman and
Diu, Mr. Badlani was designated as a one day Prime Minister of Dadra Nagar
Haveli as a head of government to sign an agreement with prime minister of India
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and formally merged Dadra and Nagar Haveli with the
Republic of India.
